Let's prosper together

Proper Pet Care exists to do two things well: take excellent care of the animals in front of us, and turn part of what we earn into the most good we can find anywhere.

The pledge

We give 10 to 20 percent of our profits to charities recommended by GiveWell, Animal Charity Evaluators, and The Life You Can Save. These three organizations do something most charity ratings don't: they compare charities by the evidence behind their programs and what each outcome actually costs.

Why these causes

Most of our giving goes to two places. Farmed animal welfare, because tens of billions of animals live in conditions no dog would be allowed to endure, and a small amount of money changes a lot of lives there. And global health, where the cost of saving a child's life is well documented and shockingly low.

The record so far

Against Malaria Foundation$5,000 raised on our public fundraiser page since 2024, from the business and its clients, funding about 2,580 long-lasting insecticidal nets. Every donation is listed at againstmalaria.com/ProperPetCare.
The Humane LeagueOur primary farmed-animal charity, recommended by Animal Charity Evaluators for its corporate campaigns to end cages and the worst practices in chicken farming.
