Training is built into every walk
A walk is thirty to sixty minutes of choices for your dog. We use them to teach the habits that make life with a dog easier, and we never use pain or fear to do it.
What your dog practices on walks
- Walking on a loose leash, so the walk is pleasant for both ends of it.
- Calm greetings with people and other dogs, and skipping the ones that aren't a good idea.
- Coming when called, practiced on a long line in safe spots.
- Settling when the walk pauses for a crosswalk or a chat.
You get a note on what we worked on, so you can practice the same thing at home.
Private sessions
For anything that needs more than a walk can give: a new puppy, a dog that pulls hard, a household routine that isn't working. Sessions are with David Roberts, our founder, and end with a plan that your walker follows too.
We keep our promises modest. If a problem is beyond what we should handle, we'll say so and point you to a veterinary behaviorist.
Our method, in plain words
We reward the behavior we want and set dogs up so the right choice is the easy one. We don't use prong collars, choke chains, shock collars, leash pops, or alpha rolls. This isn't a style preference. It matches the position of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, which recommends reward-based training and advises against aversive methods.
David Roberts holds the CPDT-KA credential from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which requires documented training hours, a written exam, and continuing education to keep.

How we train our walkers
The same care goes into the people who hold the leash.
A paid training month
New walkers shadow experienced ones and learn the handling basics before they walk alone.
Written protocols, then a test
Heat, storms, leash safety, and hazardous plants are covered in the guide. Walkers pass the required sections before their first solo walk.
CPR and first aid
Walkers complete pet CPR and first-aid certification during their first month.
Ongoing mentorship
Regular check-ins with a certified trainer, and a clear path from walker to lead walker to management.
